Just another of my poems, keep the Kleenex handy (not for that you filthy people).

    So Special

    Now you've gone i just don't know,
why did you have to go ?
you gave no sign that things were wrong,
you always laughed and seemed so strong.

    We all miss you,
    but words can't say,
the grief and pain we felt that day.

    You were so special,
    to me and all,
it just hit me when i got the call,
they said be strong and not to cry,
I felt confused and asked them why.

I thought i was dreaming when i heard them say,
    your soul has gone,
    you'd passed away,
and when i realised what it meant,
I dropped the phone and went.....

You remember the park where we once walked?
the memories of how we talked and talked?
    we spoke of marriage,
    a life of heaven.

Well i went to the park,
    the one we knew,
I sat down and thought of you,
    my heart was hurting,
    I could hardly believe,
    I wish i knew,
    why did you leave?

Kind of a sad poem and as you can probably gather, most of my poems revolve around death and hate, although i do have some which revolve around love.

well I have to say, even though I'm repeating myself, you are very good at it. Maybe one day it will all come back to you. :smiler:

    Thank you again Mal :)

I have thought about getting my poems published, although im probably a bit on the frightened side to do it. Although i have posted some of them in here for others to read they are not public domain, so anyone out there who's thinking of publishing them, think again. Unless you wanna make a 70/30 split, 70% in my favour, naturally. :dancing:

even so, you should put your name on them even here if you are bothered that someone might steel them. Then there will be a permanent, dated, record on a hard drive somewhere; plus witnesses that saw it here first etc... Not sure, but I think posting things on the internet is sort of a form of publishing?

If you go in the cellar,
    you'll see our Isabella,
    sitting on her boyfriend knee!

    One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
    Don't do anything at all.
    Go ask Alice
    When she's ten feet tall.

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall,
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
    Has given you the call.
    Call Alice
    When she was just small.

When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low.
    Go ask Alice
    I think she'll know.

    When logic and proportion
    Have fallen softly dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
    Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head"

White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane...luv that song :disco:

Have you read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? This guy eats a whole sheet of blotting paper soaked in acid and wants to listen to that song on the stereo while in the bath; he tells his friend that when it gets to the part about the rabbit he wants him to drop the stereo in the bath and electrocute him... :smile2:

There is a film but it's nowhere near as good as the book. It's written by Hunter S Thomson if you want to look out for it. I used to read it with a group of friends; taking it in turns to read a page out loud, because you can't stop laughing... :D

There hasn't been anything in here for a while so:

    Autumn Falls by Jonathan Malory.

    Autumn leaves and
    Autumn falls,
    Autumn sweeps
    The cloying threads.
    Reds and greens to
    Brown it shawls.
    Sky's still blue
    But cools our heads,
    Duvets bring us
    Warmth in beds.
    Autumn's here and
    Winter's coming,
    But we still have
    Our shopping malls. :)

    Apocalous Now?

one i wrote a month back....

    snowballing dreams of the greenest,
    -retrospective anguish: failures of the meanest;
    it reverberates through the classes,
    apocalyptic developments-
    power gained and retained,
power lost and drained- you want it, I want it lets effing, effing have it.
    weapons of warcraft,
    economics of destruction,
values of societies bending- the monolithic melting pot of state,
    rise to the bait,
    a metamorphasis,
an abstraction in to the vacuum of hypocrisy that is rife in life,
metaphysical musings - mutations symbolic, sabreing
scientific refutings - elevations chronic, cadreing
reflections of our past, mirrored into the future-
    war and peace
war and peace, war, war- BORE!
    complex, prismatic tragedies ubiquitous,
regurgatated in to every life by moguls-
    media moguls of MASS TORTURE...lies?
    pills and cockroaches,
    bad vibe,
    green flies,
snap out of it...crap out of it,
the darkest crack spills...don't freeze frame,
Majestic green hills and thrills...freeze frame.
    .......hope springs ever eternal?

Very cool. Very Allan Ginsburgy-ish. I like the rhymes especially.

You should probably say fucking not effing. It loses the spirit of the poem if you're going to be euphemistic.

I didn't understand the part at the end about don't freeze frame/freeze frame. And I don't understand where "majestic green hills and thrills" fits in with the rest of the poem.

    All in all, though, excellent.

I agree about the effing, it goes against the honest in-your-faceness of the rest of the writing. I was wondering if the poem reflects anything about where you live or grew up, or if it's a general world view thing? 8)

hello again, thanks for the comments, the poem is based directly with my feelings about the world in general; so you could say i'm slightly opinionated, but i try to be true and straight talking...that bit about dont freeze frame/freeze frame was with regards a camera ie photographs are frozen time...id rather be looking at majestic green hills than spilling cracks etc....and finally the 'f' word may be a little strong for some peoples tastes.....cheers...

p.s. sorry if its bit too 'radiohead' lol

I agree, the 'f' word can be a bit strong; it's okay to post it here in a poem or whatever though, just so long as you don't direct it at any other people who post here, anyone else is fine. :)

    Lonely Night Out

Hello everybody, great to see you.
The deliverance of a dream is all I ask,
I am looking for the biggest dream chancer,
For I am the worlds saddest,
    But nonetheless,
    A dream chaser.
    That’s okay isn’t it everybody?
It is so as to emancipate me from my woes and foes,
Tonight is the night then- for definite.
It WILL happen tonight wont it everybody,
As I feel bright and kind of lit.

    At my local drinking retreat,
    I dance and prance about,
Reminiscent of a dog in heat,
For tonight I am the dream dancer,
    Acknowledgement is my only preference…
    GOD!
    Give me at least a reference;
    Oh no not again.
    The haziness of my poison,
    slowly sets in...
    CHRIST!
Surely this has to be a sin,
But the dreamers dream still must win,
The illusionary presence of happiness must win, win, win,
    Oh goodness me no,I’ve,
    I’ve done it again!

    I stumble and fumble,
    And tumble and THWACK!
    Damn and blast darkness descends.
    Dog in heat!
    No way not anymore,
    Because this dogs…
    BEAT!
Night everybody I will see you all again won’t I,
    I will won’t I,
    won't I,
    I…
    Goodbye x.

heres another im particularly bored tonight...

    Times Gone By

You a child is born each day,
    never to be scorne?
you are nurtured like a Princess,
you are loved and loved and dined,
at what point in time does the distance entwine?
at what point in time do the games of young life creatives pine?
    a game of hiding seek...
    HEY!
    dont peek.
    is it the time,
that causes the twinkle in ones eye to die?
    but NO!
you are still that Princess of times gone by,
    always be true to yourself...
and i will be true to you.

    Re: Lonely Night Out

I really like this, it makes me smile. It reminds me of one of those 60s type poems that someone reads while playing the bongos, perhaps in a trendy jazz club. :)
