Last night I had such a weird, vivid dream. I dreamt that I was sat round a campfire in the desert, chatting with loads of other people (maybe 100) who were all from different races from all over the world. I looked up into the sky and saw what looked like a shooting star coming towards us. As it got closer, I realised that it was a missile which started to turn away from us, but then turned to head straight for us.

I looked away at a staff that was sticking out of the ground which had a symbol at the top of it, like a circle with different lines inside it, but one of the men sitting near me said "don't look at the symbol, think of something else". I closed my eyes and thought of my wife. Next, the missile landed in the campfire right in front of me and I felt the explosion and a blinding light, all the time, completely at peace and happy.

I came round in my dream, back at home and saw my wife walking towards me, but she didn't know I was there even though I was talking to her and smiling. She walked through me like in the film Ghost and felt that it was me. She stopped and smiled as if our souls were talking to each other. I felt happy and peaceful.

Then I woke up.

Can anybody help interpret this for me please?

This sounds like you are exploring your inner self - trying to discover different aspects of your personality that you may have been suppressing. The campfire in a desert is an interesting juxtaposition. A campfire is used to provide warmth and nourishment (cooking food). A desert can appear barren on the surface but there is life if you know where to look. So this dream could have to do with awakening something from within yourself.

"Don't look at the symbol" sounds like a message that you shouldn't be focusing on superficial things, but instead pay attention to what is real.

I suppose you see your wife as your anchor, who you can always come to for support in rough times.

That's a very good explanation, thank you. I don't feel like my life has gone through a big change, certainly not in the last two years anyhow. My wife got breast cancer two years ago and only finished her final treatment the other day so I thought that that might have had something to do with it.

Wow, powerful dream. Seeing your wife as a ghost may be your inner fear of her dying.
The most vivid dreams I have involved things falling from the sky such as meteors, UFO's, explosions, etc. For me, it either represents changes in my life that cause great anxiety, or a need for a creative outlet.
