It's been a while since I've posted here and this is the first dream I"ve had in quite a long time that I've remembered with any detail and thought I'd share it on the public forum. I'm pretty sure I know what this is about and added what's going on with me at the end.

    6-4-14

Last night I had a very bizarre dream. My friend Lucy has a baby. But this baby is developing outside her body in a tank built into a wall. It’s like an aquarium and the fetus is strange looking, like a freaky mutation of a human that’s been exposed to too much radiation. It seems semi conscious as well and has an expression that suggests it’s looking directly at you with a clownish face.

Then I’m in a public place like a building for sports and fitness. I”m looking for a locker room with a shower. When I finally find one, The water trickles and there are no walls separating the stalls. Then the water comes down heavy and I wonder if the pipes will burst.

    end

I’m scheduled for a hysterectomy on the 17th because of a precancerous condition in my uterus. My friend Lucy has already had a hysterectomy and has two adopted sons.

Good luck with your surgery. My sister had a hysterectomy almost 20 years ago, when she was around 40. She says it was the best thing she ever did. Made her feel like a kid again. So try not to listen to scare stories.

Before I read about your medical issues, your dream made me think of Brave New World.

My favorite genre is dystopia, interestingly enough. But I do think the dream was symbolic for precancerous uteruses and being cleaned out, so to speak.

I am not female, so I may have the wrong preconceptions here. However what I understand from the dream is the following:

    1. The desire to have a child is there, hence the fetus. The fetus is malformed and has a mocking expression however - it means that the desire cannot be realized, or at least not realized through "traditional" means.
    2. A place for fitness and sports is a place one goes to train to become stronger, but in this case you are not there for sport but to cleanse yourself - which could be indicative of what comes after some effort (i.e.: After the effort required by this operation, the cancer will be no more).
    3. No walls separating the stalls = No privacy. However, provided you are alone this is not a problem. Water coming at first slowly then in excess means, to my view, once more the topic of the child and the dual facet of the situation.

Interesting thoughts. Funny thing though, I never, at least since childhood, desired to have children so I feel the weird mutation reflects my concerns about cancer.
I'm home from surgery and see the doctor for a post-op visit next week and I find out if they found cancerous tissue.
As for the sports and fitness center, I regularly go swimming at least 3 times a week at a pool facility and won't be able to go back for at least a month. I feel I used the pool facility in my dream as a symbol for the uterus, or "pipes" that flow (or don't for me anymore).

I understand. Well, hopefully everything goes according to plan.
