I dreamt that I was in some place with famous politicans men and women whom we see on TV regularly. The woman politician smiled at me and made small conversation. I felt that I was part of the group.

Is there something about politicians or what politicians do that you find appealing? Do you find that in waking life you have to direct other people or act diplomatically to avoid trouble?

I used to work for government agencies and have dealt with politicians. Somehow, in spite of being very diplomatic myself I have been being mistreated and misused and sort of "trampled upon" and not being given the acknowledgement of all my hard work. Somebody else takes credit for all my hard work and passes it off as their work. I have always had coworkers and bosses who undermine my work and use my work for their benefit and I have been unable to get myself out of this muddle in spite of all the diplomacy, tact and team work. My work has always been applauded by other people and sometimes by politicians if it was something they were interested in. however, the ones I saw in my dream were the very famous ones who are on TV regularly (not the ones I interacted with).

Perhaps you should take a stand, and try to come into contact with people above those who use you. Make them see your own value, your effort. They will realize that you could do much more.
