    So,

I am in a house. It is day outside and it is clearly visible inside. I am moving into a room which appears however to be slightly darker than the rest of the house. I also notice on the way that the walls appear degraded, as if decaying but still pained every now and then.

When I reach the room, I find a tidy bed. I see then a foot, then with a twist a hand, rise from inside the bed.

It soon becomes clear it is a man. He looks like an eastern monk, but has sparse clothes and for the most part looks more like a shaman rather than a buddhist monk. He is also calling forth evil incantations.

Despite this, I do something along the lines of invoking God (raising my hands and arms even) and some blue-white sparkles shower over the bed and the man. The place is apparently purified, as the man now has a friendly face and also has the four elements (with colouring) painted on his face as well. I proceed to leave.

The similarities between this dream and a dream described in Man and His Symbols is striking. You will find the four Chinese in part 5 of that book, a section written by Jolande Jacobi. I cannot provide a page number because I have the electronic copy, but you should be able to find it with the above information.

Like your shaman, the Chinese in that dream represent "unconscious male psychic parts." Also, distinctly like your shaman, they represent an "earthy, chthonic quality."

The house and moving into its darker parts represent moving into deeper parts of the unconscious, seldom consciously visited or maintained.

    Thank you for your reply.

I have not heard of such book before, but I will try to read it now -- specially the part you suggest.
