First post ever...so please be easy on the newbie! :) I rarely ever remember my dreams. This one has bothered me for several days...I was not in the dream...it was if I was watching the event on a movie.

I was not familiar with the area at all. It was like a warehouse with huge hole next to it that various things would be left by the company that owned the warehouse and men were coming and taking thems out of it and stealing them. One night it appeared a nice van was stolen.

Then the next night a man put two boxes the size of a nice size tv. A man came to see what he could get and turned the box on its side. He took a rake with gloves on and opened the box and it was filled with rattle snakes that came pouring out of the box. None bit him and went into the wooding area behind him and he didn't flee...

    Then I woke up!

I do not want to comment about anything going on in my life until I see some responses...I have never really study or read much on dreams so curious your thoughts.

A few words on the symbol of the snake. The snake in the Bible tempts to transgress God's rules. He may also be seen as a sexual symbol (the forbidden fruit). The snake is also a symbol of periodic renewal, of eternal life, or of self-sufficiency (Ouroboros). The snake is also very wise (New Testament). According to Jung, it guards the Self.

    Thank you, Anna.

Here is some more information on dreams about snakes.

I think the warehouse in the dream represents you.

The men stealing things represent things that have been taken from you. These don't have to be physical possessions; people could have done bad things to you that caused you to lose your pride, your confidence, your sense of happiness or security etc.

Was the man who opened the box one of the men who was stealing things? (Sorry, I got a bit confused.) If so, then the fact that he didn't get hurt by the rattlesnake could mean that you feel that our defenses aren't strong enough.

Snakes are a powerful symbol of transformation because they know how to shed their old skin as they grow and move forward. I would ask for clarification on the meaning of this dream as you go to sleep. If something is trying to get through to you from your subconscious it will keep trying as long as you attend to it. Wait for other things to confirm the meaning of your dream and stay open to all possibilities.
