This is my first time posting on a site like this so bare with me. :)
So I had this dream since I was 5 years old and I remember very vividly waking up and screaming for my parents every time I had this dream when I was younger. I'm now 17 years old and I still have this dream and nothing about this dream had changed since I first had it. This dream comes to me about twice a year and I haven't taken notice when, like what season or anything. I remember this dream so vividly and detail not like other dreams I had. Quite frankly, the dream isn't "scary" but I always wake up with a disturbed feeling.

    -Dream-
I wake up in my room in my old house, the house I lived in until I was 12. Now my vision is in red, like if you looked through the red film on 3D glasses. No one is home and I don't see myself so I'm in more of a first POV. I walk down the hallway to my living room. In the middle of the floor is a giant hole. I walk over to the edge and peer down and all I see is darkness. Scared I back up and walk in the kitchen where I see one cabinet prop open so I can only see two yellow eyes looking back at me(think cheshire cat). I calmly walk away from it and peep into my parent room to see if anyone is there. I then walk to the front door and walk outside. I look up to the sky and watch as the once beautiful blue skies are consumed by dark stormy clouds. Feeling the need to leave I climb into a convertible parked in the drive way. I start driving and it starts to rain but the top of the car won't go up. I head in the direction of my elementary school. As I'm heading that way it starts to hail. I go down the street in front of my school and then it starts raining scorpions, little ones about an inch long. As I pull into the school the scorpions falling start getting bigger. I just sit in the car screaming(but they're very muffed screams like my ears where covered other then that the dream is soundless). I pull out of the parking spot when giant scorpions, by giant I mean car size maybe a bit bigger, start falling. My dream always end as I look up and see a giant scorpion fall on me.
    -End Dream-

I always wake up in a jolt, breathing heavy and sweating after this dream. This dream disturbs me so much I won't go back to sleep. I don't believe I die at the end of the dream and I've been terrified by scorpions since I was 5 because of this dream.
I read somewhere that dreams well recur because your subconsciousness is trying to tell you something.
If you don't know what the whole dream mean that's fine but I would love it if you know what bits and pieces mean. I can try to put the pieces together.
    Thanks :)

That's a great dream. I agree it means something. I'll start yammering as if I might have a clue what, and often something comes to me that way.

You dreamed of driving when 5? The dream must have evolved then?

I dreamed of a red hairline crack in the air, in a bedroom with a red carpet in my childhood home, and red eyes watching from it. I've also dreamed of enormous crawdads. Feels similar. And I've felt a black hole, like a door to hell.

Imagine yourself as a once free, innocent, emotional spirit, buried behind a carnivorous, scheming, peering, grasping, analyzing mind sort of grafted on top of of it, trying to squeeze satisfaction from the surface of things, through that mindset, like trying to squeeze juice from a rock. I'm thinking that although the dream feels like a door to some supernatural underworld, with cthulhu gazing out at us, this is backwards, and it's more a reflection of how our 'material' animal world feels to a deeper part of ourselves. And there's something turned around in our thinking, where we confuse looking out with looking in. The scary things we think are lurking inside are actually reflections of what's plainly in front of us on the outside. But when we look outward, we don't feel, and don't recognize the stressful effects that our outward pleasures have on us. I think it's natural and good to have an outward animal self, it's just that we're confused somehow about how it all fits together, so that part gets distorted as we try increasingly hard to substitute the things it sees for the other side of ourselves that we seem to have forgotten.

Maybe that's a bit hard to follow, and not the kind of answer you needed. But thanks for the image anyway, I think it clarifies my red-eyes and crawdads dreams some.

Yes I was "driving" or assume to be in the dream. I just get in the car and it started moving. It may not be "real" driving but I think I got it because I had a little barbie jeep I drive aroud the neigborhood in. But I see how that may seem strange in the dream.
I'm glad my dream helped you with yours. :) I also never heard my dream explain the way you explained. Most of my family and friends just say it's a dream it doesn't mean anything but it really feels like it means something. Thank you for your interperation. :)

I agree with shadowofwind that these seems like primal fear dreams. That would explain why you have had this dream at different times in your life, as it isn't about a specific incident or situation.
