I've been sick for several days in bed. One of my my briefest moments of non rem sleep I killed myself. The dream was very quick. I inserted my finger into my ear all the way until it made a popping sound and then I had the sudden realization my finger was imbedded into my brain. In a hollow echoy voice I heard myself say "oh my god" realizing that I just killed myself. Then I woke up. I do not remember what I saw if I saw anything. There was no anxiety or stress resulting from the episode but it was disturbing. What is the meaning of this? The obvious phallic symbolism aside?
Did you have a fever? A dream of having your finger embedded in your brain sounds like an image you would get from having a fever. Killing yourself in the dream could have been the turning point when your fever started to break or you just generally started to get better. It could also have been a message from your unconscious that you got sick because you weren't taken care of yourself and you ought to start taking better care of yourself before you do "kill yourself ".
