Two years ago I had a very strange dream. I'm still trying to solve the meaning, and got it interpreted, some said it has a positive meaning some said negative. Sometimes I just see these kind of dreams, and thought why not share it here? I consists of three parts and that's also how I wrote it. Nothing is made up, and I really saw this dream.

My dream begins on an island to which me and my parents go on vacation. The island has one huge volcano in the middle. Shortly after our arrival, we have an earthquake there, due to the volcano and it is about to errupt. I can see the earth moving like waves, coming at us right from the top of the volcano, just like an earthen tsunami. While I look at that horrible formation, I realize and somehow know deep inside of me that we are going to die if such a wave of earth is going to hit us and I know it is going to hit us. At that moment it comes and hits us and everything is black- I die.

I suddenly open my eyes and find myself at completely white place. There is nothing around me except light, and it is everywhere. (Here I did not have the feeling that I'm dead, I just feel surprised and I'm not scared at all.) I see only that whiteness and hear sounds of things flying around me, but I cannot see what it is, I cannot see anything except whiteness and I cannot hear anything except fluttering. While I am standing there and trying to see what these flying things are, I hear a very calm voice coming out of nowhere saying,'You do not belong here!' However, while trying to grasp this one too, a young man suddenly appears in front of me. He is wearing something completely black, has brown hair and is very handsome. He puts his arm around me and says,'Now you are my best friend.'

After his words, without being able to comprehend what's going on, I find myself on the island with the volcano again-I come back to life. I look around but I cannot see my parents anywhere, except the volcano is calm now ruins of buildings are everywhere. Wherever I look I come across complete devastation caused by the earthquake and there are only a few people left. In my dream I feel ok but I am shocked at what I see around me. And I wake up.

First of all, a dream by itself doesn't have a positive or a negative meaning. A dream just tells you how you are unconsciously reacting to a situation in your life. Once you understand what the dream means, you have the choice of whether to react to it in a positive or a negative way.

The volcano and the tsunami can represent strong emotions that you have repressed Water in a dream often represents the emotions, so a huge flood of water (from the tsunami) can stand for a fear that you will be flooded with emotions if you don't keep them under control (or that you won't be able to keep them under control.) A volcano erupts when too much pressure builds up inside and it has to release it. In a dream, that can symbolize emotional pressure that needs to be released.

Dying in a dream often represents a change in your life, so the dream could be telling you that you need to express your feelings in order for your situation in life to change.

People also go on vacations to get a change from their daily lives.

The man who says "you are my best friend" could be the strong part of yourself that gives you strength no matter what happens in your life.

Volcano and earthquake represents Hell and death, light and flying represents Heaven and death.

Personally I would see you as surviving a spiritual battle.
