Okay, so I just had a dream that I was back in high school @ my school with a lot of my old friends that I've since forgotten and everything. The classrooms were huge, like 4x their size but only 20 or so students in each class. It must have been been the end of the first day but I remember going to a couple of different classes including one girls class (knew the girl) that I wasn't enrolled in but went anyway although the teacher didn't seem to mind me being there, but she commented on my presence. After that I wandered between a few more classes and ran into a few more old people I had long since forgot including the cross country team (which I was on), who I ignored/ignored me. They were too busy hazing their freshman members. So then I walked outside and said bye to a few people and a party broke out. Next thing I knew it was dusk and Mick Jagger was playing live under the breezeway (can't peg the song) and I remember being really happy about this. I made my way to the back of the school where the athletic facilities were at and threw my backpack into the van. Yes, the van we used to have with the wood grain paneling ('90's Caravan), it was loaded with groceries, like a full restock from the store. So then I go to the back to check if everything is loaded and okay and I see a man who asks me if I'm a freshman, and says he doubts it because of my size. I tell him no, I'm a senior, I just transferred and he says hold on. He then asked if I'm on any teams and I say no, I'm not in any athletics. It's now, twilight, just past dark. Next thing I know Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy) walks up surrounded by cheerleaders and tells me he's the football coach and says the first thing I need to do tomorrow is get my butt on his football team. Then he starts making a point of it, "What's the first thing you're going to do tomorrow?" "Get on the football team". The cheerleader uniforms are different, they're white with 'Highlanders' written across them in navy blue. We were the Highlanders but our colors were red and green. Then for some reason music starts playing we all get a big laugh and start acting out old commercials from the 90s like the old Glad bag commercial and a few others and laugh hysterically. The song was 'Unanswered Prayers' by Garth Brooks except more upbeat and sung by a woman. I then woke up because it was getting just too weird. When I woke up the show So You Think You Can Dance? was on my TV and the girl on the show was dancing to the song but the key here was the lyrics were slightly different. The girl in the song kept on saying "sometimes I thank the Lord for unanswered prayers" just like the dream, but Garth Brooks' version says "Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers". I can't find the TV version of the song anywhere online. I'm sure it was in the dream because it was on TV, just like Mick Jagger, I'm sure someone danced to that song and it was in the dream because it was on TV. That much I'm sure of. What the heck does the rest of this mean?

You dreamed about being back at school and seeing people you haven't seen in a long time - is there something in your life that is changing? Does part of you wish that things would go back to the way they used to be - before the change in your life?

A football game and "So You Think You Can Dance" are both competions. Do you feel like you are competing for something in waking life?

Well I got a divorce about three years ago and I've been in a bad mental state until recently, say about 6 months ago. I am now seeing the light at the end of that tunnel and I am feeling much better about my direction in life now. As far as competing for something in life, the only thing I can think of is I am now back enrolled at my university and intend on finishing my degree. I am a senior and only have 3 semesters left. I didn't realise that you were actually in university at the moment. That could definitely be triggering memories of high school.
