Me and my brother are out walking with our dad in the late evening. We cross a street, chatting as normally. We enter the park trails and it's very, very dark. I am having great difficulty deciphering shapes in this sudden plunge into nighttime. Since I can barely see, I close my eyes and follow the sound of my dad and brother walking and talking. They are moving quickly and since I can't see, I remove my gloves and run on my hands and feet, like an animal. This allows me to travel by sound and feel. My dad is farther away now, but I still hear him. I am running on all fours now, keeping up well. There is a sudden slope downward which catches me off guard. I navigate it carefully and continue on, soon entering daylight. If my assumptions are correct, this relates to instinct, no?
It's funny; I thought of that before I read that last line. Seeing without using your eyes has to do with a "deeper" kind of vision. There is also the spiritual concept of using your "third eye".
Instinctive, yeah, I'm starting to recognize more primal or instinctive emotions and behavior in my dreams. But why do I dream of running like animals? Why do I wake with the urge to continue running like I did in the dreams? Where am I running to? I'm trying to pursue a more natural, spiritual lifestyle, but progress is slow.
