Rape Dream Meanings

If you’ve had a dream that you were raped you may be feeling very upset, frightened or freaked out at the memory of the dream and may also have emotional difficulty reliving the nightmare?

Being raped is a very powerful image for your dreaming mind to inflict on you, so feeling disturbed is only natural and you have to assume your mind has a good reason for giving you this dream.

If you were actually raped in walking life it may be that your dreaming mind is trying to help you get through the emotional and psychological pain caused by this most traumatic event?

Whatever the case, one thing needs to be clear in both dreams and waking life – rape is NOT about sex and is definitely NOT about love. Rape is 100% about one person having brutal control over another person, forcing a person’s will on another in a way beyond their control.

Being raped in a dream

Assuming this has not happened to you in waking life, and it is not a repressed memory, a rape in a dream may not be quite so literal in meaning as an outright physical assault. It could be your dreaming mind warning you of someone in your life making you do something you aren’t comfortable with, or that they are the type of person that you should not associate with because they may ask you to do things you don’t want to?

Being raped in your dream can reflect your feelings of hopelessness in a situation at work, school or some other part of your waking life, and perhaps feelings of guilt for being involved in this situation, like you have been made dirty or sullied by being involved, even though it was not your fault?

Your rape dream could be a message that you need to stand up for yourself, don’t let yourself be subjected to the will of someone else in your waking life?

If you dream that you are raping someone else is could be that they have humiliated you in waking life so you’re trying to dominate them, subject them to your will in your dreaming life?

If you witness a rape in your dream and feel you can’t do anything about it, that you have to watch but can’t intervene, it can reflect your feelings of hopelessness in a waking life situation where you would like to help someone but are powerless to do so?
