It is not unusual to dream about God, or even gods and goddesses. Whatever religion you are, there are common emotional connections with the idea of God such as love, caring, retribution and justice. There may be other emotions and feelings you associate with your own religion and God, so you will need to bear these in mind when interpreting your dream about God.
In some cases you may even dream that you are a god or goddess yourself, which may reflect your current good fortunes or luck in waking life. However, such dreams can also be a warning about becoming too big headed and having too much of an inflated ego!
There is a strong need in most of us to seek validation, love and praise for our actions and behavior in life, which can often manifest as dreams about God.
God in dreams can be a reflection of your higher self trying to give you spiritual guidance in your life, so try to remember what you were told in the dream are the gist of the feelings.
Seeing and/or hearing God in your dreams can also be an indication that your subconscious wants you to pay more attention to the spiritual side of life, to spend less time on worrying about material things. If you are normally a religious person, these dreams can also be a sign that you need to reacquaint yourself with God. Perhaps you have felt distanced from God recently and it is time to reconnect?
Ancient Gods and Goddesses
In old dream interpretation scripts the gods from mythology had different meanings attached. For example: Adonis represents health and love of one’s self; Apollo is connected with a bright optimistic outlook; Chiron in connected with healing; Mars is connected with success and Zeus can be both negative and positive.
Likewise, mythological goddesses have their own connections. For women goddesses in dreams represents their femininity and affinity with other women. Goddesses in men’s dreams represent the fear of female power.
